Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers.
Launched in 1984, the initiative has been running for more than 40 years, providing organisations and communities a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts.
Volunteers' Week 2025 runs from June 2-8, and Kirkcaldy Foodbank would once again like to take the opportunity to pay tribute to the efforts of each and every one of our volunteers for everything they do to help the less fortunate in the community.
We dedicated our AGM in April to our volunteers in recognition of the fact that the foodbank would not exist without the contribution made by them in all aspects of our work.
Keeping the foodbank running smoothly requires people to help in a variety of different roles and we still have opportunities in a number of areas.
Specifically, we are looking for help with the following:
Fundraising team – helping with fundraising ideas and writing funding applications
Finance team – assisting with the financial side of our operation
Creating social media posts
Writing and designing newsletters for volunteers and supporters
Using spreadsheets to compile data on our work and create our data reports
Board members to assist with the oversight of the running of the foodbank
Anyone who would like to find out more about any of above roles should contact us at comms@kirkcaldyfoodbankcharity.org.uk and someone will get back in touch to discuss, without any obligation.
